The Ritual Baja Sardinia It's the story of the evenings of the Emerald Coast: born from the dream and genius of Andres Fiore and was officially inaugurated on 6 August 1970, immediately becoming reference point for the island's nightlife.

A granite castle stands on a hill just outside Baja Sardinia. An extraordinary work of art in harmony with the surrounding nature; Fiore preferred to define his Ritual a scenography and did not like to talk about architectural work, but how can we not admit that we are in front of a perfect example of organic architecture? Landscape and human work appear naturally interconnected, the Ritual it seems Indeed arise spontaneously from the rock and the surrounding vegetation. The spiral construction scheme chosen by Andres, loads his “creature” with esoteric meanings and symbols.

From the prescient vision of Andres Fiore, atop his chameleon-like creation perched on the mountain overlooking Baja Sardinia, our restaurant “Le Terrazze Ritual” comes to life, born from Francesca Fiore’s desire to give continuity and evolution to the place where her father Andres had designed and created an inaccessible hanging garden.

The Terraces, looking the sea, release all their beauty, during the day they reflect the sunlight, in the evening they almost seem to touch the moon and the starry sky.

From now on we will take you on an exclusive experiential and sensorial journey that will involve all five senses, accompanied by an endless sunset first and then by the immensity of the Milky Way.

Once you climb the granite stairs, the places will open up before you where you can taste the best mixology cocktails from aperitif until late at night and at the same time, inebriate your taste buds through a culinary journey, a triumph of tastes, flavors and aromas, seasoned with an excellent selection of bubbles and fine wines. Each part of the room has been studied ad hoc in close relation to its position with respect to the landscape and the stars.

Ritual was one of the first clubs in the world to move the DJ from his isolated booth to the console, the heart of the disco. Born in the golden years of the Costa Smeralda, the club found itself perfectly in line with the great cultural ferment of the time. The clientele has always been extremely varied and heterogeneous; since the early years, in the same evening, you can meet intellectuals, people from the world of entertainment, entrepreneurs or simple tourists discovering the beauty of Sardinia.

Today the enchanted castle of Baja Sardinia continues to be the undisputed protagonist of the summer nights of the Coast; every summer the Ritual offers a wide and varied program of evenings and international guests animate the cave until the first light of dawn.

This is the Ritual of Baia Sardinia, designed and built more than twenty years ago by the architect Andrea Francesco Fiore from Parma, known to all as 'Andres del Ritual'. “The name Ritual – Fiore begins – was born from the fact that, as Homer taught us, in these caves around Arzachena the populations came to perform propitiatory rites with animal sacrifices”. The thick hair, worn military clothes: even Fiore, in symbiosis with his artistic creature, shows a sort of formal incompleteness, almost as if he wanted to blend in with the surrounding reality. “I could define myself as a pirate artist, constantly searching for the meaning of life, it is important that a person tries to understand the reasons why he lives”. Regarding the purely architectural aspect of the work, Fiore clarifies that “the external image of a fake collapse represents a constant cultural and structural renewal, always respectful of nature and history”. Fiore is shy about hearing about an architectural work: “This place is a scenography, not an architectural work”. The entrance to the Ritual leads to an almost mystical atmosphere, the portal composed of a single beam decorated with horoscope symbols, including that of Aquarius – an index of great discoveries – and on one side of the portal, a square spiral to mark the distances between the finite and the infinite; you continue through a garden and reach a large natural cavity in the shape of an amphitheatre, the true beating heart of the Ritual. “This place – says the architect – was born as a meeting place for artists and in '68 it was a free community, then it took on the function of a disco, but I believe that the change in function does not affect the value of the structure”
